горловина конвертера
Верхняя часть конвертера с отверстием, через к-рое заливается чугун, загружается лом и выливается шлак, а в нек-рых процессах (АОТ и др.) и сталь. Служит для отвода конвертерных газов при продувке металла кислородом. Выкладывается из того же огнеупорного материала, что и цилиндрическая часть конвертера. На стыке горловины с цилиндрич. частью имеется летка для выпуска готового металла.
